Conversations with the Wasband
“Not all water is alive. Some of it is holding its breath.”
A still desert pool, a former husband, and the difference between managed water and living water.
Anything kept too still, too controlled, too sterilized eventually loses its charge. Real life ~ like real water ~ must flow. And the moment you choose the living water over the managed one ~ everything changes.
- Where in your life are you accepting the appearance of peace instead of the real thing?
- What have you sterilized in yourself just to be accepted ~ and what would it feel like to let it flow again?

Real life ~ like real water ~ must flow.
Pool water can heal the body. Living water can heal the soul.
Sometimes you have to walk away from what looks perfect to return to what is alive.
Real water moves. It finds the cracks.
Not all water is alive. Some of it is holding its breath.
That is what I am after now ~ not the appearance of peace, but the kind that moves like water: honest, shifting, unafraid to stir the deep.
The moment you choose the living water over the managed one ~ everything changes.
This teaching closes Passage Five of The Well Being of Water: Surrender to Self, a lyric memoir in thirteen passages by Amal Lana.
